Our hobby farm is located in Magnolia, Texas. If you are a Texas local or love a good road trip you are welcome to meet us locally to pick up your hatching eggs or babies.
I package eggs with the utmost care! The exterior of shipping boxes are labeled BOLDLY with FRAGILE. We are NPIP members and I do include our NPIP number on all shipments.
Shipping can be hard on eggs. There are many factors that can cause an egg to not develop. Even if the eggs and box arrive in good condition, shipped eggs are always a gamble. I test fertility weekly on our farm and only send fresh eggs (less than 3 days old). Once I collect eggs, pack them carefully, and drop them at the post office - they are out of my control. I cannot refund for broken, late, or damaged packages.
Shipping is a risk and sometimes shipped eggs do not hatch - that does not mean the eggs were not fertile. I do send all eggs with $100 insurance that allows YOU to file an online claim with USPS if needed. Make sure to take photos of the damage to file a claim. All egg shipments are labeled to be held at the post office and they should contact you when they arrive for pick up.
RETURNS AND REFUNDS
We do not offer any hatch rate guarantees or refunds on fertile hatching eggs. Incubating eggs is a risk and the buyer bears the burden of this risk.
EGG INCUBATION PRO TIPS
After receiving your hatching eggs - please allow them to rest at room temperature for 24 hours pointy end down in the carton before adding to your incubator. This allows time for the yolk and air sac to center after shipment.
Next add the eggs to your incubator with the heat on, but the turner off and wait five days. After five days - activate your turner and proceed as usual.
Our chickens have been recently tested and are Pullorum-Typhoid clean. A copy of our testing document and NPIP certification number will be included with all hatching eggs purchases.
We work hard on selective breeding to produce high quality, good tempered, beautiful birds. Genetics are complicated and recessive genes can show up, out of nowhere, at any time. For this reason, I want to mention that you may get an odd egg or chick. You may get an unexpected color chick, or a chick with pigment gaps, etc. There is no such thing as show quality chicks or hatching eggs. You are buying the genes with the potential to produce a show quality bird.
Even if you breed only show quality parent birds, or only hatch the darkest eggs, there is no guarantee the offspring will be SQ or lay a specific egg color. This is expected even in the best of breeding programs. If you are not ok with this risk, please do not place an order.
