White Sebastopol Gander

Sebastopol Geese

Sebastopol Geese have totally stolen our heart.  They are so charming and each has a distinct personality.  There is nothing better than gosling snuggles and soft gosling fuzz!

Since we have several breeding groups - we will be able to send goslings from multiple pens to widen your genetic pool.  We do not offer goose hatching eggs - only goslings.

We have white, blue, blue saddleback, gray, lilac, lavender, buff, and buff saddleback geese in our breeding groups.  Color is hard to determine at hatch and a specific color is not guaranteed. Our breeding groups are arranged so that they can create several colors.  Goose's Choice!

We have won several awards at our local poultry shows with our geese including Champion Overall Goose, Champion Medium Goose, Best of Breed, and Best of Variety.  Check out our awards page for more pictures!

Sebastopol Geese

    Sebbie Color Vocab

Sebastopol Geese come in many gorgeous colors - here is a quick guide to colors borrowed from the NSGA Newsletter.

    • Pure white is the current accepted APA standard for the Sebastopol breed
    • Goslings can be autosexed if BOTH parents are pure whites, not color carriers.
    • Boys will appear all yellow and girls will appear with a color saddleback.
    • Goslings will have light peach-colored beaks and legs.
    • There should be NO other colors or shading.
    • Yearlings (1 year and younger) can have gray feathering because they might have blue underneath their white feathers. This will typically molt out after the first year.

    • Hoping to add this variety to the APA standard within the next 5 years.
    • Goslings have dark colored down with black bills and grey legs and feet.
    • Adults have gray feathers on their heads, backs and chests, with white feathers underneath.

    • Goslings have light brown colored down with darker brown coloring on their bills, legs and feet.
    • Adults have brown feathers on their heads, backs and chests, with white feathers underneath.

    • Goslings have a very blue hue to their down when wet from hatching.
    • Adults generally appear as a lighter color gray with a blue tint to their feathering.

    •  Adults have a diluted, light blue/gray tint to their feathers.

    •  Adults are even more diluted with an off white blue/buff coloring to their feathers.

    •  Adults have a diluted, light buff tint to their feathers

    • Adults are almost all white with an occasional colored feather, usually on their back under the wings or tail.
    • These are white Sebastopols with a colored parent somewhere in their genetics.
    • A white cc gander can produce goslings in any color in his genetic background.
    • Female white CC do not impact color.

    • The head, back, and sometimes flanks of adult birds have colored feathers.
    • The rest of the bird is white.
    • Females also typically have a triangle at the base of the chin or bottom bill area.

    • Adult birds have mostly white heads and bodies with mottled coloring.
    • A white goose (pure or white cc) paired with a colored (gray, buff, blue) gander generally results in a gander with a splash color pattern.
    • While not common, this coloring can also present in a female.
